1)Workers shall don the safety harness when working at height above 2 meter on scaffolds
2)Workers shall anchor the safety harness
3)Employers shall provide safety harness, provide safe means of access, ensure all identified openings are covered with steel plate toe board and scaffolds erected with metal barricade and metal guardrails
4)Employers shall report all industrial accidents to MOM within 10 days through I-reporting
5)Contractors shall engage licensed waste contractor for disposal of the hazardous empty paint storage containers
6)First aid kit shall be provided at site for emergency use
7)Employer shall provide safe means of access & egress at work for his workers to access the designated work area for safe job completion
8)Check the supply chain new vendor qualification records and ensure that the engaged  paint contractor is company approved vendor and have been audited to meet company standards
1)Risk Assessment shall be conducted on all activities associated with painting at height, handling of paint ,storage of paint and disposal of  hazardous empty paint storage container
2)Safety Data Sheet (SDS) shall be available for interpretation of health & environment impact, and for handling, storage & disposal requirements
3)Paint which has chlorinated content shall not be used for road marking in view of it’s environment impacts
4)Workers shall don the relevant PPE as recommended in the SDS 5)Scaffolding supervisor shall ensure all visible opening areas on the erected scaffolds are effectively covered with reasonable practicable means –steel  plate toe board&  to ensure there is no gaps that would threaten the safety of the workers working on the scaffolds
6)All scaffolds workers shall don safety harness at all times whilst working on the scaffolds
7)All scaffolds shall be erected with reasonable practicable means of barricade with metal guard rails and toe boards in such a way that they would not threaten the safety of the workers working on the scaffolds
8)Safe means of access & egress shall be provided prior to commencing work on scaffold structures
9)Safe Job procedure developed and workers trained on working on scaffold procedures , donning & anchoring of safety harness
10)PTW (accompanied with risk assessment,& methods of statements) shall be apply for painting at height and shall be approved by the HSE department before work commencement
11)Scaffold supervisors directing all scaffolding activities must be MOM approved scaffolding supervisors and be trained & qualified
12)Only workers who have undergone the scaffold erector course/suspended scaffold rigger course can be deploy to erect and work on scaffold
13)Professional Engineer shall be engaged to design the scaffold if the scaffold height is more than 30 meter
14)Workers & scaffold supervisor working on a scaffold structures shall ensure the following:
a)They shall anchored their safety harness at all times
b)They shall ensure all visible openings on the scaffolds are effectively covered using reasonable practicable means
c)They shall ensure all scaffolds are erected with reasonable practicable means of metal barricade and metal guards rails and steel plate metal toe boards
d)They shall ensure sufficient and secured anchorage, by means of a life line or otherwise for the safety harness or safety belt
e)They shall ensure the anchorage shall not be lower than the level of the working position of the person wearing the safety harness or safety belt
15)Daily safety toolbox meeting shall be conducted prior to work
16)All safety harness shall be physically check for damages by the workers and verified by the scaffold supervisor daily prior to use
17)No materials shall be kept at or near the edge of the building scaffolds
18)Scaffold Supervisors shall perform integrity scaffold checks daily & ensure it’s integrity daily prior to work commencement
19)All painting works shall ceased when there is signs of lightning & thundering
20)All hazardous paint wastes empty containers and cans shall be disposed of by licensed waste contractors and waste segregated using designated waste bins for disposal
21)All industrial accidents shall be reported to MOM within 10 days through I-reporting
22)Employers engaged as contractor to provide scaffolds services shall ensure the provision of reasonable practicable means of PPE to ensure his workers safety at work and also to ensure his workers have undergone the scaffold erector course/suspended scaffold rigger course
